Post subject: First question: How many miles? Selling old project BMW

When I am buying old BMW for very cheap in AZ, like a non running project car, I never ask for mileage. It really means nothing, we don't have salty roads here were mileage means how much rust is on the car. So why do people ask right off the bat, 'how many miles on it'?

Can somebody explain why?

Because they want to feel like they have got you by the balls when you reply "280k" thats there way of trying to jew you down on the price. Honestly i know that miles are irrelevant for the most part. Its all about how well the vehicle has been maintained. But i still act like its a big deal to me when buying my cars. To the general public mileage is everything.

Mileage is everything to most people. If you were to tell my mom you had over 100k, she would say that's an old car. It could run and shine like a top. But to her it's old

I don't really care depending on the car. But it's a good JNF point and miles dictate price
