flex disc isnt based on a non-descript european language like "gUIbo" and has no business being a boring word for a cool part.

What is this, amateur hour?!!

but idk what your talking about with this cv joint on the end? there is no cv joint in a drive line.

This is a common misconception. Read this article:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...city_joint

Constant-velocity joints (aka homokinetic or CV joints) allow a drive shaft to transmit power through a variable angle, at constant rotational speed, without an appreciable increase in friction or play. They are mainly used in front wheel drive and many modern Rear wheel drive cars with independent rear suspension typically use CV joints at the ends of the rear axle halfshafts, and increasingly use them on the propshafts.

For example, my E39 has a CV joint that connects the diff to the driveshaft. Infact its the reason my car is up on jackstands currently.

Simply put, it was common on etas with automatics to use a CV joint connecting the driveshaft to the differential. So, Mr Ford Hillbilly could have found a CV driveshaft and took the good rear section to replace the trashed one on the car. Then at the same time, looked over and found a '91 and took the driver door off of that car.

well I guess I believe you.. hard to take you seriously.

anyways I still have my old trashed driveline from my vert. I plan on using it and a junkyard 3.73 for when firebird reopens its gates... those u-joints are so stiff haha... but can they ever break?

Haha yup it didn't work. The drive shaft needs a balance, and a u-joint. The car has a small leak from the rear of the trans... I guess "the bigger problem" that wkohler mentioned earlier in this thread is that the output shaft on the trans if fucked up causing the drive line to be out of balance, causing the csb to get trashed in literally no time at all.. It could be the trans. It could be because the hillbilly p.o. didn't mark the splines on the drive shaft when he replaced the last csb... I see you have a trans for sale.. trust me im thinking about buying it if the car dose not sell.

I found a 3.46lsd that I pulled from an 86 635csi auto with 160k. If im going to keep the car my plan is to fix this problem, whether its the tranny, or just out of balance shaft... and put that bad boy in. Smile I wanna put it in right now but its not worthy. So with that said if anybody is in the market for an open 2.93 with e24 cover and sides let me know.. ill post in f/s once its out of the car. I can weld it also, im a certified aerospace tig welder, just putting it out there.

How about you sell me that LSD so you have funds to fix the car legitimately? I know a guy with a spare trans and the mechanical knowledge to swap it out for you. Smile

haha i cant man, i didnt even know this gear ratio existed untill i scraped off the grime that covers the tag. I thought they only went strait from 3.25 to 3.73. I read on another forum an eta with a 3.46 and a chip will just barely beat a bone stock 325i, while still keeping a reasonable amount of top end. haha so i kinda wanna see this myself. But how many miles on your buddys g260?

I find that hard to believe, a stock 325i comes with a 3.73. You might pull a stock 2.5 up to 30mph but the horsepower will win out. Anyway, if you sell the e30, pass on the LSD to me.
