Post subject: Question about my transmission:

I have a question for all the transmission/e36 pros...
The 325i that I bout a few months back, now has a slipping trani, easy replace the clutch. Dude I bought it from said it had an '95 m3 diff and a m3 trani (year never specified) do I need to figure out what exactly the trani is before I go buy'n a clutch and pressure plate? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated aswell. Thank you for your help.

Looking at AZAutohaus.com, there are different part numbers for a '95 325iS clutch kit versus a '95 M3 clutch kit. Not sure what that means, but wanted to point that out!

PelicanParts has a tech article on replacing the clutch, too.

Identify the trans you have to be sure, best not to take previous owners word that way you can be confident that you have ordered correct clutch kit for your trans... Transmission case should tell you, look for markings on trans before ordering anything...
