Good choices Derek. It also looks a million times better too!

Yeah when are you going to come back to a meet man?! I've been wondering, figured you sold it by now.

I have been out of town or working so I haven't been able to come to the meets. Hopefully I will be there next week if I am able to finish various projects on it! Surprised

Small update 7-29

Got the fan clutch removed and a 16" spal installed, and a small leak in the exhaust fixed.

Haven't played around with it much at the moment, did notice it seemed to sound a bit meatier/bass-ier, probably because the fan clutch isn't drowning it out.

It's wired to be always on when the car is on, Christian wired to an extra factory relay he had, which there just happen to be an empty spot in the fuse box for one, so it looks all factory like Very Happy

Also took the snorkel of the airbox, big difference without it, much better

any reason you wired always on? it's going to take a long ass time to reach operating temp like that.

I have to say, I've driven it a few days now and I think getting rid of that mechanical fan was the last piece of the puzzle. That, combined with the airbox/new filter, m50 manifold, and silicone intake boot have really come together to make it rev a lot more freely now.

It's hard to describe but it's a noticeable feeling when driving it. Perhaps throttle response is the right word? Before it just felt like something was holding it back or some sort of resistance when I'd lay into it a bit. But now it just goes with little delay, and even the auto feels a lot less in the way than it ever did before (but yes it's still an auto). It definitely moves well.

Also to my surprise the sound without the fan clutch is different, a deeper sound, I like it. But maybe that's just because I can actually hear now instead of a dump truck sound, ha ha. Though the e-fan is pretty loud in it's own right but at least it doesn't sound like a delivery truck!

I'm pretty happy with the results, it drives a lot more how I imagined it would have when it was new, which I realize is ironic since it has things they never had when they were new, ha ha But you know what I mean Very Happy

Ha ha, I forgot all about that! Yeah it was gone by the time I got home.

Weird how that epoxy when from smelling like ass to smelling EXACTLY like popcorn after a few mins of running.

Forgot I took this pic a few weeks ago. Pulled into the garage at home and it just happened to roll over perfectly.
