If new wheels equates to new shoes, I suppose these are my touring's new legs:

Very cool, I suspect you do not have the air ride system then?

It will be interesting to find out what the ride will be like with these. Ride quality is nice on e39s as it is, so I hope it doesn't get too harsh with the coilovers. The shocks are adjustable, so that will help.

My main goals with this setup are a) lowered ride-height, b) reduce nose-dive on braking, and c) tighten things up just a bit without compromising too much comfort.

Eventually I'd like to get a beefier anti-roll bar because the least desirable handling aspect of my touring is the body roll in turns.

This will be nice! Come over to my place and Peter and I will help install them for you.

I would love to, but another buddy of mine (Stefan) has agreed to help. I actually met him at the touring meet I organized back in February. Really cool guy who does suspension consulting for race teams all over the world.

I'm not sure if we're going to do the job at my place or his, but if it's his and you're interested, I can find out if he'd be cool with guys coming by to help. It wouldn't hurt to have the extra hands.

If at my place, anyone's welcome to come by and help. Maybe I'll turn it into a BBQ. Cool

Stefan lives in Avondale and I live in Gilbert, btw. And if, for some reason, things fall through with Stefan, I'll definitely take you up on your offer. Thanks!
